Introduction
Thank you for choosing iNotariz for your Remote Online Notarization. This guide will help you prepare for a smooth, secure, and efficient session.
RON allows you to complete a legally binding notarization from anywhere using a secure video platform. Our Texas-commissioned notaries (Margaret and Jeremy Josey) personally conduct every session with the same care and attention we bring to in-person appointments.
What You Will Need
Please have the following ready before your scheduled session:
1. Valid Government-Issued Photo Identification
- Must be unexpired and clearly legible
- Accepted forms: Driver's License, State ID, Passport, or U.S. Military ID
- You will be asked to show both the front and back during the session
2. Original Documents
- We can only notarize original documents
- Photocopies or previously signed documents are generally not acceptable
- Have the documents open and ready on your screen or in front of you
3. A Quiet, Well-Lit Space
- Good lighting is essential for clear ID verification
- Minimize background noise and distractions
- A stable desk or table is recommended
4. Reliable Internet Connection
- Minimum 5 Mbps download speed recommended
- Use a wired connection if possible
- Close other applications that may use bandwidth
5. Required Witnesses (If Applicable)
- Some documents require witnesses under Texas law
- Witnesses must also have valid photo ID and be present for the entire session
- We will confirm witness requirements when we schedule your appointment

Common Questions
Can I use my phone? Yes. A smartphone or tablet works well, though a computer with a larger screen is often more comfortable for reviewing documents.
What if I have technical difficulties? We will send you a direct phone number to reach us before and during the session. We are experienced at troubleshooting quickly.
Will my notarization be valid in other states? Yes. A Texas RON notarization is valid in all 50 states when performed correctly.
